Mitsui O.S.K. Lines

(MOL), founded in 1884, is one of the world’s most powerful shipping companies. Mitsui O.S.K. Lines operate more than 493 vessels, from containerships to tramp vessels and specialized carriers for cargoes including automobiles, iron ore, coal, wood chips, crude oil, liquefied natural gas(LNG), and chemicals.

The MOL Group’s total logistics service links sea, air and distribution. The MOL group fleet also includes coastal liners, cruise ships, and ferries.

Always in the forefront of new developments in shipping, MOL quickly seized leadership in the transport of automobiles as Japan emerged as a major exporter.

MOL launched there first specialized car carrier in 1965, and today handle more than 25 % of the cars shipped around the world (under the MOL flag). In the future, MOL will continue developing and providing high-quality services to satisfy the needs of customers around the world.

The world’s leading car carrier fleet.

Pure car and truck carriers (PCTC’s) are designed to accommodate all types of vehicles, from completed passenger cars to construction machinery. The structure of these ships allows efficient loading of large numbers of vehicles on multilayered decks, just like multilevel parking lots. MOL operates the world’s largest fleet of car carriers, more than 70, some of which can hold up to 6,000 vehicles.

MOL’s network provides various services to ports in more than 100 countries.
